A Celebration of Music, Adventure, and West Virginia’s Spirit

The Wild Trails Festival is proudly hosted by the State Fair of West Virginia, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving agricultural traditions while creating new opportunities for entertainment, education, and community connection.

Our outside events—like Wild Trails—are a vital part of what we do. They help us keep the fairgrounds active year-round, bringing music, culture, and experiences to the Greenbrier Valley while supporting the local economy and tourism. As a nonprofit, every dollar earned from events like this goes directly back into maintaining our facilities, improving guest experiences, and—most importantly—funding youth livestock premiums and agricultural education programs that help shape the next generation of West Virginia farmers and leaders.

Encouraging Exploration and Local Adventure

Wild Trails isn’t just about incredible live music—it’s about celebrating Wild, Wonderful West Virginia. That’s why our festival begins later in the day each afternoon, giving our guests plenty of time to get out and explore everything the Greenbrier Valley has to offer. From hiking and fishing to scenic drives and small-town shops, we encourage visitors to make their Wild Trails weekend an adventure both on and off the fairgrounds.

We’re also working with local businesses, outfitters, and tourism groups to create exclusive weekend experiences and adventure packages—so festival guests can discover the trails, rivers, and beauty that make this part of West Virginia truly special.

Our Mission

At its heart, Wild Trails is about connection—connecting people to music, nature, and each other. By attending, you’re not only joining a one-of-a-kind celebration—you’re helping sustain a century-old West Virginia tradition and supporting the future of agriculture and community events across our state.
